A day in the life

I thought it might be interesting to give you a little insight into what i do at work.
I work for a local company that grows aubergines & cucumbers under 35 acres of glass.

This is one of the electric trolleys we use to harvest the aubergines when they are too high to pick on foot

A look down one of hundreds of paths of aubergine plants. The rails on the ground are what the picking trolleys (above) run on

A tray of aubergines for Tesco hand picked by me

Then on to a pallet which will be in your local supermarket within a day of being picked

We also grow for M&S, ASDA, Waitrose, Booths and Sainsburys. Hope you found it interesting, bye for now.

Sausage casserole anyone?

I don't normally make a cooked dinner on a sunday but that all changed today..
Decided to do a nice wholesome sausage casserole..

Into the slow cooker it goes

Nearly done

There you go...enjoy!

If you like the look of my sausage hehe casserole..here is the recipe.

6 pork & apple sausages
2 carrots
chuck in a few frozen peas
1 onion
broccoli
1 small can of baked beans
1 pkt of sausage casserole mix
and a dash of mixed herbs
served with creamy mash potato

Chop each sausage in to 5 or 6 peices.
Peel and chop the carrots into 1cm peices
Chop up a medium onion
Bung the sausage, carrots, onion, peas, baked beans into a casserole dish or slow cooker pot, except the broccoli which i added a few hours in as it doesnt need as much cooking.
Cook for 1 1/2 hrs in a 180 degree oven or
5 hrs in a slow cooker on the auto setting

Out & about

Decided to go for a walk this aft with it being such as sunny day. So I thought why not take the camera and show what it's like around where I live.

I think I'll go down here..

Drax power station, one of Europe's largest power stations

aww aren't they cute munching away
Haven't been down here in ages

and on the way back home I saw this lovely horse, although I think he could do with a few carrots or something to fatten him up

Hope you enjoyed my little tour around Camblesforth.. Take care and bye for now x

Meeting the family

Hi,

Well it's been an uneventful week really. First week back to work after a lovely break in Knaresborough. With it being a quiet week it got me thinking about what I could talk about..then it hit me! My lovely wife Deb and the handsome Snoopy (our dog)

We met on a dating agency website 5 years ago and we were married within a year of meeting. One of Deb's hobbies is cross stitch and this week to celebrate our wedding day she made this..

Six years ago when I lived on my own, I decided to get a dog for some company. I decided on a dog sanctuary a few miles away from where I lived, and after looking at every dog there I came up to the last kennel and saw the biggest brown soulful eyes ever..his name was Snoopy. He'd been there on and off for 4 years and I was advised not to take him as he had issues. But I fell in love with him and we've been best friends ever since. Here is the handsome boy..

Hope you enjoyed getting to know just a little bit about the family and how we met. Have a great week!

See ya

Our 4th Wedding anniversary

Hiya
Last Monday the 27th Me and Deb went away for a few days to a lovely B&B in Knaresborough, N Yorkshire. It was a treat to our selves as it was our 4th wedding anniversary on the 29th. These are our pressies to each other..

Mines the watch hehe..
I also got a Gelert rain jacket which i saw and was highly recommended on the Gadget Show a few weeks ago. It was an inspired choice as it got quite a few outings while we were away :))

So concludes my first ever blog post..hehe fun isn't it!!
